First Layer is free to read. To pay for it, some links on this site may be affiliate links. If you click one and then buy or book something, the seller may pay us a commission. It costs you nothing extra, and the price you pay is the same as going to the seller directly.

What this means for you

• We only link to things we'd point you to anyway. A commission never decides what we recommend, and we include options that pay us nothing when they're the better choice.
• We tell you when we're not sure. If we haven't been able to confirm a price or a claim, we say so.
• Links are labelled. Guides that contain affiliate links say so near the top or bottom of the page.
• No paid reviews. We don't accept payment, free products in exchange for coverage, or sponsored rankings.
